Swamp People star Zak Catchem is one of the most hardworking cast members in the franchise. Zak was a professional fisherman before he appeared on the show. Due to this, he learned quickly working beside the Edgar family. The Swamp People star is also a YouTuber, known for his impressive lures and huge catches. Zak fell in love with fishing at a very young age. He was already tagging along with his dad and grew up pursuing fishing as his career.

The Edgar and Landry family were able to make use of his impressive fishing skills, even when they were hunting for gators. His athletic build has also resulted in many crew members relying on his physical skills. He loves documenting his hunts even outside the show. But he took things too far when he wrestled with a piranha.

Zak Wrestles With Massive Piranha

In an Instagram post, Zak Catchem shared a clip with his group as they tried to catch a 50-pound piranha. They were in disbelief upon seeing the monster fish up close. The Swamp People star captioned, “Huge 50lb Piranha Species caught in City Park Pond!” Many fans were shocked by the group’s bravery. It didn’t take that long before Zak tried to lift the massive fish with his bare hands, which clearly showed how big it was.

“That’s clearly a Pacu-ranha-poon. It’s a Pacu, Piranha, Tarpon hybrid. I’ve only seen them in the Kendall Bay area of Miami-Lauderdale.”

Swamp People: Zak Catchem To Appear Next Episode

Zak Catchem is also expected to make an appearance in the upcoming episode of Swamp People Season 16. According to the March 20th episode synopsis, Zak will aid Daniel in taking down “The Professor,” a cunning alligator that has evaded capture for 30 years, making it a legendary moment for the crew. The upcoming episode will also feature Troy Lanrdy teaming up with a hunter to chase a 14-foot monster while Joey and Kallie take on another elusive gator terrorizing a crawfish pond.
