Swamp People star Ashley Jones is back with a huge update online. She stepped away from the show following the life-threatening illness of her niece. However, she still gets into minor hunting, especially fishing. She remains in touch with the rest of the hunting crew as well. Ashley previously announced that she’s stepping away from the show after filming with the Landry family for five seasons. According to the Swamp People star, she wants to devote herself to her family first. She clarified that she’s not fully leaving the world of hunting.

But she came to a realization about how important life is and that her job may easily take it away from her. In addition to that, Ashley’s 12-year-old niece recently underwent emergency surgery to remove an 8-inch mass from her body. This also fueled her desire to spend more time with her family.

Ashley Celebrates Major 2-Year Milestone

Ashley Jones recently took to social media to celebrate a major milestone. According to the Swamp People star, she’s now two years sober and thankful to God for the changes in her life. Ashley also shared a comparison photo of herself when she was still addicted to alcohol. Many fans also commended Ashley for her commitment to turning her life around.

Ashley also shared another post regarding her milestone. She believes that she won’t be able to achieve it without the help of her family, especially her husband, Chad. To celebrate her achievement, Chad brought her out to a fancy restaurant. Ashley continued, “Everyone had a great meal together. It really meant a lot that everyone wanted to go out and celebrate me. I was brought to tears. God is so so so good to me!”

Swamp People: Ashley Jones Gets Into Fishing

Ashley Jones has also kept the fans in touch with her life after leaving the show. Recently, the Swamp People star uploaded photos of herself fishing with her family. According to Ashley, she’s far different from other women who would take photos with their fish while wearing bikinis. She added, “I’m a girls girl, you won’t see me posting anything I’d be uncomfortable with my kids/husband looking at! I don’t care if I don’t get as many likes, at least my crappie is bigger.”
