The 16th season of their TV show is currently airing, but it seems Jacob doesn’t want fans to miss out on his family. Many viewers have seen Jacob’s growth since the first season. Swamp People: Jacob Landry Is Thriving As A Dad
Aside from wrestling alligators, Jacob has also been thriving as a father. Recently, the Swamp People star uploaded clips with his son, Ridge, as he teaches him how to throw a line and catch a gator. Ridge couldn’t keep the alligator on his line, but Jacob motivated him and taught him tricks he had learned from his father, Troy.
Jacob also revealed that Ridge has been joining in his grandfather’s hunts, and many fans believe he will take the throne as the next big hunter in the family.
Jacob Shares The Truth Behind Their Hunts
In a social media post, Jacob Landry shared a clip from one of their latest alligator hunts. They were already hauling dead gators from the swamp. But Jacob revealed that it’s not as easy as it seemed on the show. According to the Swamp People star, the alligators are extremely heavy, and everyone needs to be careful to avoid flipping the entire boat over.
He captioned, “They make it look easy on Swamp People 🤣🤣” It also appears that the crew had some great catches and even Ridge was part of the hunt. Some fans were also surprised by how difficult it was to lift an alligator onto the boat.

Swamp People: The Dangers Of Alligator Hunting Continues To Haunt The Crew
It’s no secret that alligator hunting is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world today. Numerous injuries have already happened throughout the show. One of the most recent ones was Anna Ribbeck’s thumb infection. According to the Swamp People star, she had a small cut on her thumb while pulling alligator lines.
But she felt excruciating pain over the next few days. She then discovered it got infected, and she had to be sidelined from the alligator hunts. Fortunately, Anna quickly recovers and is preparing to return with her hunting partner, Bruce Mitchell. They have already uploaded clips of them warming up in the swamp. One of which was when they started cleaning invasive apple snail eggs.
